REVIEW: Fisher-Price Starlight Papasan™ Cradle Swing

For the past three babies I've used hand-me-down swings from family, which is nice-but not exactly what I'd choose if I had my choice to buy...

Enter needy baby #4,

and I had to get one she would like.

So the hunt was on, the reviews were read and the purchase was made.

The winner: Fisher-Price Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing

It was exactly what she needed and just what I wished for,

the swing has helped me catch a break several times a day:)

The key features that make it the best are these:

It plugs into the wall.

It swings side-to-side as well as front-to-back.

(She needs the side-to-side and I love the fact that if I leave it on when I get her out in a scramble I'm not wasting batteries that are a hassle to change.)

The kids all love the awesome star show it has and the mobile and the several different songs. They are just as entertained as the baby is!

It really is awesome.

I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

(I got it from Walmart.com and it wasn't as expensive as on the Fisher-Price website)

This swing makes my life easier, by entertaining my high maintenance baby girl

and it makes my life better by letting me have a shower occasionally ;)

REVIEW: PaciPillow

Every once in a while, I come across a product that slaps me in the face and makes me think

"Why the heck didn't I think of that?"

I recently found one.

Check it out:

it's called a PaciPillow.

It is so simple, and yet so helpful!

For three babies, I've struggled to find this solution and now that I've found it, I'm loving it.

The other night, I had #4 in my Baby Bjorn,

as I was trying to make some dinner all the while I was holding the pacifier in her mouth and bouncing to calm her down,

then I remembered I had a PaciPillow to test out,

so I did my trick with a hairband again- to make the GumDrop Pacifier have a ring,

 Stuck that sucker on the pillow (inintended pun-but i like it-so it stays..) 

and wedged it between me and her (in my cleavage, if you must know ;)... )

From that point on, when she opened her mouth to complain and fuss, the pacifier stayed directly in front of her mouth, so she could just 'plug right back in" when she wanted ;)

I was amazed.

Now that little pillow is a necessity.

I put it between her swaddle blanket layers,

I tuck it under carseat buckles,

it sleeps by her.

and I'm sure this list will continue to grow.

 this product makes my life easier/better for sure!

GIVEAWAY & REVIEW: Hawaii Medical GumDrop Pacifier Bundle [CLOSED]

I have had four babies, which means I've tried lots of pacifiers. ;)

My #3 was the pickiest by far.

He loved the Soothie which they gave me at the hospital, but I had ONE PACIFIER.

I asked all of my friends if they had any old Soothies to donate to the cause,

b/c I couldn't find them anywhere.

(It was before they started selling them in stores)

Then, I got online and found a Hawaii Medical GumDrop Pacifier.

Practical and simple, I'm not going to argue about that ;)

It helps by comforting the baby

(I put it on the side of their faces while they are sucking on the pacifier and it calms them right down...weird)

and it makes the pacifier easy to find-Bonus.:)

Fun Fact: GumDrops sold in stores are not the ones used in hospitals these are the originals. Only distributed by Sandbox Baby.

They are also just about to launch a new personalized pacifier clip coming out this month.

I just love how you can still see her little nose with the same benefits of the Soothie.

These three products make my life better and easier, by having a way to soothe my baby and having a way to keep it close at all times :)

REVIEW: BabyLegs

It's been winter for a year it seems (especially b/c everyone in the family keeps being sick)
...but I have found a new staple around here.
Enter BabyLegs.

They are perfect!

They make snow days easier, b/c after putting on the coat and gloves, I slipped these over them both and the gloves actually stay on my 1 1/2 yr old! :).

Also, taking my 3 yr old to dance class at 9am in the middle of winter with snow on the ground is hard enough, but when she is freezing, it's really irritating. So I slip the awesome BabyLegs over her tights and ta-da! She isn't so "naked" anymore.

Also, my newborn can wear them with her dresses, she's warm enough to be wearing pants, and it's easier to change a diaper with these bad boys on than it is with tights.

I love my BabyLegs!

I can't wait to see how many different ways I can use them in the summer.

REVIEW & PROMO: fHg Designs Bib

For those of you who know how awesome the puking is that comes with an infant with GERD/Reflux, you know how important the bibs are.

 I have a bunch of ugly ones that cover up cute outfits. So I went on a hunt to find a cute bib to cover up a plain outfit.

For this purpose, I scouted and found fHg Designs.

I had the opportunity to review a bib and I chose the Amy Butler Baby Bib in Lotus.

It is SO DANG CUTE!

I'm pretty sure for most of the summer, my baby will be wearing this and a white onesie and will "out-cute" anyone.

This bib is so easy to put on, just slip it over the head.

It is big enough to actually catch the loads of spit-up and it has a super absorbent terry cloth back.

 I love it.

And it will work for her from newborn to toddler.

If my 23 month old slobber monster would leave it on, I'd be getting a few for him.

These are not your average ugly bib, they are a functional fashion statement.

REVIEW: Moby Wrap

I have hunted for a perfect way to "babywear".

Baby #1 got a big, bulky ring-sling, which is okay, but not my favorite. I felt insecure, like he was suffocating, b/c i couldn't see his face very well.

Baby #2 got the Bjorn. Which I did love, but not for her newborn phase and not for every occasion

(that's a review for another day).

Enter, my life saver, for baby #3, the MOBY WRAP.

Is it possible to fully express my love affair with my Moby?

I doubt it.

But maybe an abundance of pictures will help.

And I can tell you this story:

Just yesterday, I had an impromptu trip to my grandparents house. They have a farm.

My nearly 4 year old had a hurt foot and needed carried.

My 6 week old was extra grouchy needing to be held 

and my 23 month old needed a lift.

How did I do it all simultaneously?!

 I don't have a picture, but I can tell you for sure that I wouldn't have accomplished it as gracefully without my MobyWrap :)

ha. ok maybe it wasn't graceful, but for 3 kids, 90 lbs, and two arms. not too bad...

I got a different bag to store/carry it in, so it's easier to stuff into to.

But other than that-I love it. and highly recommend it.

Actually, I recommend one for the car, one for the house, and an extra for when one is in the dirty laundry. :)

I don't have any pictures of me with #4 in it yet. But I assure you, she loves it almost as much as I do!

...Now I just need to get a few more ;)...

REVIEW: Medela Pump In Style Advanced Breast Pump

Twelve days after I had my fourth baby (In January of this year), my third child was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.

It sucked- to say the least.

My husband stayed the nights with him and I did my best to stay the majority of the daytime with him.

All the while, I was sending my newborn- not yet two weeks old, with other family members.

It was difficult.

It was sad to leave her during the crucial bonding time, but my sick boy needed me more- and she did not seem to notice.

I was so blessed to have received this pump from a dear friend. When I got it, I thought, "this is awesome, I've never pumped and probably never will, but this is an awesome one incase I take it up."

Guess what?!

 This was my life saver during the week of hospital stays! I would have been so much more upset with life if I would have had to end the breastfeeding before it had really begun.

This pump helped me to keep things going, and to fill bottles to pass along while dealing with the whole ordeal. It came with everything. Bottles, little cooler bag, a battery pack, two pumps- so I could rush through and pump both sides simultaneously between nurse visits.

It even came with a fancy bag, so I took it with me everywhere as if it were a purse/diaper bag. And it worked as one just fine.

(and then, on her two week birthday, she got admitted to the hospital with RSV, so she got to share a room with her big brother and the real fun began...but that is a different story for a different blog ;) ...)

Now, several weeks later, things are fine and she is nursing like a champ, and I most definitely can thank my Medela Pump for that. Without it, I probably would have given up hope and started her on formula.

During a very difficult time, this product made my life so much easier!

REVIEW: Miracle Blanket

When Asa (#3) was a baby, he was colicky, and fussy non-stop, or so it seemed. Obviously, we realized that our babies slept better while we were holding them and keeping their arms from moving,

but who can actually swaddle tight enough to keep tiny arms from flailing?

Enter my miracle.

I got online and hunted for swaddling blankets and this one stuck out to me.

So I forked over the money and got one coming my way.

And better days were ahead.

He loved it!

I loved it.

My husband loved it.

SOLD.

Now, when my baby girl is fussing and I can't get her to settle down, this is the blanket I reach for.

She loves it.

It has made life easier.
